International activities
The program of foreign relations development in the ISR NSTU includes
spreading of information of the progress of the deaf and hard of hearing students' rehabilitation and training process,
establishment of contacts with similar institutions for handicapped people abroad in order to exchange experience. The
second direction of the international relation Department's activity is organizing students' and teachers' mobility and
the third one is work to involve ISR NSTU into matching humanitarian projects with the aim of getting grants for further
development of the rehabilitation and educational process.
The geography of ISR NSTU international activity is large. The process of rehabilitation and education in the institute
attracts foreign specialists.
Through channels "Rotary-International" collaboration is realized with countries of the North-American continent
including the US and Canada.
Thor Brand Erichsen (an artists, Rotary volunteer) in spring 1997 held art lessons with the deaf and hard of
hearing students for 2 weeks. While teaching he used his own original method.
The Institute has a partnership with German establishments on professional level: "Caritas" (Aachen) and gymnasium
- school for the deaf and hard of hearing (Neuwied).
For the future we are looking for students', teachers' and staff's exchange.
