PRIZE "PROMETHEUS"
Every year the Prometheus prize is awarded to NSTU students who have made their personal contribution to developing and improving the University image.
Prometheus is a symbol of inextinguishable internal striving for achieving high and noble goals. The name of the Greek god Prometheus means "foreseeing" or "anticipating". Maybe for this very reason the contest for the greatest accomplishments was given his name.
The annual prize "Prometheus" is awarded to full-time students of NSTU who show good results and progress in their studies in recognition of their personal contribution to maintain and improve the image of the University in the following areas:
I. Science
II. Art
III. Sport
IV. Public work
To become a holder of the "Prometheus" prize a student has to pass a strict selection procedure of two rounds.
In the first round a competent professional jury considers applications and selects the best candidates. Juries are formed in the following areas: SCIENCE under the aegis of the Centre for Research & Development, ART under the aegis of the Centre for Culture, SPORT under the aegis of the Fitness Centre, and Public WORK under the aegis of the Board of Monitors.
At most three contenders are selected by the jury to participate in the second round in each area. The jury provides a reference (1 page) to the University jury.
In the second round the University jury makes a final decision by secret vote and selects one winner in each area.
The solemn ceremony of presenting the Prometheus prize to the winners is held on NSTU Day that is celebrated every year.
